Privacy Policy
BluSky Dental Richardson
This notice describes personal and health information used in connection with BluSky Richardson dental care and enquiries. You can ask how information about you is handled, request access to your records or raise a privacy concern with the practice.
What this privacy policy covers
Dental care requires information such as contact details, medical and dental history, medicines, allergies, examination findings, images and treatment records. Insurance and billing information may also be needed to manage the services you receive.
Provide information relevant to the purpose of the request. A general appointment enquiry should not include detailed health records or financial documents unless the team has directed you to an appropriate way of sharing them.
Use and sharing of information
Information is used for assessment, treatment, care coordination, appointment communication, billing and required recordkeeping. Sharing with another provider, an insurer or someone involved in your care depends on the purpose, your consent where required and the applicable law.
Not every use or disclosure requires separate consent. Legal requirements and permitted exceptions may apply. You can ask the practice to explain the basis for a particular disclosure or discuss a limit on consent. A requested limit may affect the information available for care and should be discussed with the treating team.
Records, safeguards and retention
Dental information requires safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. Records must also be retained for the periods required by professional and legal obligations. A request to stop receiving a communication is different from a request to erase a dental record that must be kept.
Contact the practice if you believe information was sent to the wrong person or accessed improperly. Describe the concern without unnecessarily repeating sensitive details in an unsecured message.
Access and correction requests
You may request access to your personal health record and ask for correction of inaccurate information, subject to the applicable rules and exceptions. The practice may need to verify identity and clarify the records requested. Ask about the process and any applicable copying fee before the request is fulfilled.
Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner explains health-record access and correction rights. You may also raise a health-privacy complaint with that office.
Website and outside services
An online booking or other external service may have its own privacy notice. Review it before supplying information. Do not assume that a general website message is monitored for urgent clinical concerns or is the appropriate route for sending full dental records.
Ask the practice about the communication method you prefer and the alternatives available. Website browsing alone is not consent to a dental procedure or unrestricted sharing of your health information.
Contact about privacy
Call Richardson at 613-829-5921 and ask to be directed to the person responsible for privacy enquiries. The contact page provides the practice's location information. When requesting a callback, provide only the information needed to reach you and identify the type of enquiry.
Website Forms and Analytics
Appointment requests use BluSky Dental’s existing Tally form. Patient questionnaires and referrals may open Jotform, DentalWriter or LeadConnector. Information you enter is handled by the clinic and the relevant form provider. Contact Richardson if you need another way to provide information.
Optional Google Analytics helps us understand visits and website interactions. Analytics loads only after you accept it using the website’s cookie preferences. You can reopen those preferences in the footer. We do not include the contents of patient forms in our website analytics events.
For questions about the website or your information, contact richardsonreception@blusky.dental or call (613) 829-5921.
