Cosmetic Dentistry Reading
BluSky Dental Richardson
A cosmetic decision is easier when you understand what changes, what stays the same and what care will be needed later. Use these guides to prepare for a conversation about the detail you would like to improve.

Veneers versus crowns compares restorations with different coverage and purposes. It explains why an appearance concern and a structurally weakened tooth should not automatically lead to the same choice.
For colour, read the teeth whitening guide. Existing fillings and ceramic work do not bleach like natural teeth, so the overall shade plan matters.
If several changes are involved, smile makeovers explains sequencing and staged decisions. Digital smile design describes how a preview can support discussion without promising an identical result.
Keep three questions in view
What is the smallest appropriate change that addresses your concern? Does the option alter healthy tooth structure? What maintenance or replacement could it involve later? Bring these questions to the consultation alongside your appearance preferences.
A photograph can help you explain a shape or colour you like. It does not establish what is suitable for your mouth, and there is no requirement to copy someone else's smile.
Move from reading to a discussion
It may also help to separate the result you want from the procedure you first heard about. Wanting a lighter colour does not automatically mean wanting veneers, and wanting a small space reduced does not establish whether adding material or moving teeth is more appropriate. Start with the concern and compare the options after assessment.
The cosmetic FAQs answer common planning questions. For assessment at BluSky Richardson, Book a Visit. You can also return to the full article library to explore another topic.
