New Patient Information for BluSky Dental Richardson

BluSky Dental Richardson

BluSky Bee

Welcome to BluSky Dental Richardson. Whether you have moved to Ottawa, are changing dentists or are returning to care after a break, start by telling us what you need from your first appointment.

This page helps you get organized before visiting. For the appointment itself, read What to Expect on Your First Visit.

Arrange Your First Dental Visit in Ottawa

Call (613) 829-5921 and let the team know you are a new patient. Explain whether you want a general assessment or help with a particular concern. Mention pain, a recent injury or symptoms that are changing.

Tell us about any time constraints and ask how long to allow for the appointment being arranged. Your needs determine the visit; a first examination, an urgent assessment and a cleaning are not necessarily the same booking.

Share What Would Make the Visit Easier

If you have dental anxiety, sensitivity or a previous difficult experience, bring it up when booking. You can explain what concerned you and ask how the team approaches it.

Discuss mobility, communication or other access needs before travelling. This gives the clinic a chance to explain the arrangements available and helps you decide what to prepare.

Gather Your Information

Have the following ready, as applicable:

  • Current contact details and an emergency contact.
  • Your medication list, including names and dosages.
  • Relevant medical history and known allergies.
  • Insurance information or current CDCP details.
  • Your previous dentist's contact information.
  • A list of symptoms, priorities and questions.

Ask the team which identification and paperwork they need for your visit. If you are unsure about an answer on a form, raise it rather than guessing.

Ask About Your Previous Records

Existing dental records can provide useful background. Tell the clinic where you previously received care and whether you have recent images or treatment information available.

The team can explain the process for requesting records and any authorization needed. Use the clinic's approved transfer method rather than sending health documents to an unconfirmed address.

If you previously attended Silver Dental Centre, mention that when calling. Ask whether anything needs updating before your appointment under the BluSky name.

Prepare the Paperwork

Our patient forms page explains the information commonly requested. Confirm that you are using the current Richardson forms and ask how completed documents should be returned.

If you would prefer help at the office, contact the team beforehand and ask when to arrive. Completing paperwork and understanding it are both part of preparing for care.

Discuss Payment Questions Early

Your first appointment and any recommended treatment may involve separate fees. Ask what the booking includes and how an estimate will be provided if further care is proposed.

Insurance and CDCP benefits depend on your situation and the proposed services. Our payment and coverage information can help you prepare questions; the clinic and your plan can clarify the details that apply to you.

Before You Leave Home

Confirm the date, time and location of your appointment. BluSky Dental Richardson is at 510 Richardson Ave, Ottawa, ON K2B 5H1. Bring the information requested and any questions you have noted.

If you need to change your appointment or something has changed with your health, call the clinic as soon as possible. The team can explain the next step and the applicable appointment policy.

We look forward to getting to know you. Contact Richardson if you need help before your visit.
